Crixan is used to treat peptic ulcer disease, bacterial pharyngitis, mild to moderate community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, mild to moderate bacterial skin infections and soft tissue infections.
Take medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not miss the dose even if you feel better to avoid antibiotic resistance. You should take it at a fixed time with or without food. Avoid tyramine-rich foods such as cheese, meat etc. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it may lead to severe liver damage. Stopping the medicine too early may cause the re-infection and hard to treat the symptoms.
Crixan's most common side effects include abnormal taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, rashes, heartburn, and headache. If the side effects persist or worsen, inform the doctor immediately.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medications.
