Ciploric tablet is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to treat and prevent gout. It works by decreasing blood uric acid, which is the chemical that causes gout.

This medication dose and duration will be given based on your medical condition as prescribed by the doctor. Take this tablet orally with food, but try to have it at a fixed time regularly. Take this medication as advised by the doctor. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. If you stop taking this medication, your condition may worsen because more crystals form in your joints and kidneys. Do not take this medication longer than recommended by the doctor. Drink plenty of water while taking this medication as it may help to reduce episodes of gout attacks.

The medication’s most common side effects are rash, nausea, and diarrhoea. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may advise you for a regular checkup of liver function test before starting and after treatment. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. You must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. This medication may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy so, do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have liver & kidney problems, and using any other medication. Ciploric tablet is unsafe in both pregnancy and breastfeeding.
