CILNIKEM CT tablet is given in combination with two antihypertensive agents to manage high blood pressure, which helps control the blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of heart attacks or stroke. as it is a combination of two medicines, each of which provides effective actions individually as given below:
it is a thiazide diuretic, also known as a water pill that effectively removes extra water and some electrolytes like sodium and chloride. it also relaxes the blood vessels, which eases blood flow, thereby reducing blood pressure.
cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker. it helps relax the heart muscles by inhibiting the entry of calcium ions into the cells, thereby effectively reducing the blood pressure and helps the heart to pump efficiently.
take this tablet as instructed by your doctor. the dose and frequency of dosing is as per your doctor’s instructions. do not stop the medication until and unless your doctor has asked to. use this tablet regularly to get maximum benefits of the treatment.
the side effects caused by this tablet are dizziness, headache, drowsiness, nausea, tiredness, palpitations, glucose intolerance and increased blood uric acid. if these adverse effects persist, consult your doctor immediately.
