cedon oral syrup is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, and it works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. thereby, kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections.
cedon oral syrup should be given to your child an hour before or two hours after meals. i prefer giving it food. if your child gags and expels the medicine within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but do not give a double dose if it’s the time for the next dose.
do not give this medicine to your child if they are suffering from cold and flu as this medicine is an antibiotic it does not work on viral infection.
most common side effects are vomiting, diarrhoea, nausea, rash, and headache. usually, these side effects subside once your child adapts to the medicine. inform your doctor immediately if these side effects persist or worsen.
usually, your child starts showing improvement within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. inform your doctor if your child ever had or have kidney problems, liver problems, lung problems, heart problems, blood disorders, congenital disabilities, airway obstruction, and gastrointestinal issues.
