Candid cream is an antifungal medication. It is mainly used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, nappy rash, sweat rash, and vaginal thrush. It works by damaging the cell membrane of the fungus, which thereby kills the fungus. Check the label for direction before use. This cream is meant for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor. Clean the hand and affected area and apply the cream. Clean or wash the hands with water after applying the cream.
It is recommended to complete the course of treatment. Stopping too early can lead to the re-infection and may become worsen. Washing socks or tights and changing the shoes daily in case of athlete’s foot will improve the symptoms.
The most common side effects include application site irritation, blister, itching, redness, and skin peeling. These side effects are usually minor and not serious but inform the doctor if they do not subside. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately.
You should avoid direct contact of eyes, nose or mouth. If exposure to eyes, nose or mouth takes place, rinse immediately with water. Inform the doctor if you don’t see an improvement after four weeks of treatment.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or intend to be pregnant and using any other topical medications.
