CALMLIV E tablet are used to treat depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and insomnia. this tablet is a combination of two medications, etizolam and escitalopram, which reduce anxiety and improve mood. etizolam is a benzodiazepine (bzd) that increases the action of gaba, a chemical messenger that inhibits abnormal nerve cell activity in the brain. escitalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (ssri) that raises serotonin levels, a chemical messenger that improves mood.
this tablet are used alone or in combination with other medications. you are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. you must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it may lead to severe dizziness and drowsiness.
the most common side effects of this medication are diarrhoea, weight gain, headache, chest pain, shortness of breath, change in taste, abdominal pain, sour mouth, altered libido, depression, confusion, drowsiness, headache, uncoordinated body movements, fatigue, sedation, slurred speech, tremor, and visual impairment.
before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medications. this medication is not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding as it may harm the baby.
