Asthafen tablet is used to treat allergic conditions, it works by inhibiting migration of eosinophils intlo inflamed airways, thereby reduced allergic conditions. It is used in severe allergic conditions like allergic rhinitis.
You are advised to take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Caution must be followed as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. This medication has to be taken to several weeks or months for you see or feel the benefits of it. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it may leads to severe liver damage.
Most common side effects of this medication are irritability, inability to sleep, nervousness, dizziness, dry mouth, bladder infection, headache, nausea or vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, changes in weight and fever. If the symptoms persist or worsen you need to consult your doctor immediately.
Your doctor may advice certain tests before and after the treatment to check for any issues.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, or have liver and kidney problems and using any other medications. This medication is not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding as it may harm the baby.
