Aldosmin tablet is a flavonoid. It is used to treat acute or continual haemorrhoids, varicose veins, and lymphedema. It improves blood flow within the veins and restores their function.
It works by blocking the action of chemical messengers (prostaglandins, thromboxane a2), which cause inflammation of the veins. This improves blood flow in the veins and restores normal vein function.
Take this medication at a dose prescribed by your physician. Do not stop taking this medication, and it may lead to a re-attack of your disease. So please use this medication as your physician recommended dose and duration. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other drugs because it may lead to drug interaction.
The most common side effects are abdominal pain, headache, nausea, and diarrhoea. Most of these are temporary and usually resolved with time. This may temporarily or resolve after few days of stopping this medication. Drink plenty of water while taking this medication for rehydration because it may cause diarrhoea.
Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or intend to be a pregnant and breastfeeding woman. Please consult your doctor before taking this medication. Do not take this medication without consulting your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, or heart disease.
