LYSER-D is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting chemical messengers in the brain responsible for pain, fever and inflammation (redness and swelling). Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that relieves inflammation and oedema by breaking down abnormal proteins at the inflammation site and promoting healing in the affected area.
It is used as a short term relief of pain and inflammation. It effectively reduces inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis. You may also use it to relieve muscle pain, back pain, toothache, earache, and throat.
LYSER-D's most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, heartburn, indigestion, and diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects bother you. Your doctor may suggest various ways to reduce or prevent side effects.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have a history of ulcer or bleeding in your stomach, high blood pressure or any problems with your liver or kidneys. Also, tell your doctor if you are taking any other medications as they may cause interactions. You need to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while taking this medicine as it may cause excessive dizziness. Inform your doctor if you had any previous history of allergy to this medication.
