Euthyroid is a synthetic thyroid hormone used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce sufficient thyroid hormone. Take medicine on an empty stomach. This medication has to be taken for several weeks or months for you to see or feel its benefits. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
This medication may cause side effects such as palpitations, vomiting, anxiety, diarrhoea, weight loss, nervousness and restlessness at higher doses. Although, these effects may disappear when you are at the correct dose. Inform your doctor if these effects bother or worsen your condition or persist for a longer duration.
You may need this medication to take for several years or the rest of your life. You should take this medicine regularly to achieve effective results and maintain thyroid hormone levels in the body. If you stop taking medication, it may lead to a flare-up of the symptoms.
Your doctor may recommend a blood test to notice the effectiveness of the medication once you start taking it. Inform your doctor if you experience a very high temperature, fast or irregular heart rate, low blood pressure, yellowness in the eye/skin, confusion, or fits.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medications.
