Gabantip AT tablet contains two medications amitriptyline and gabapentin. Gabapentin is structurally similar to the gaba neurotransmitter. It works by preventing calcium to the cell membrane. Amitriptyline belongs to a tricyclic antidepressant class of medication. Amitriptyline increases noradrenaline and sertraline neurotransmission by stopping the noradrenaline and serotonin transporter at nerve terminals. Thus, both drugs help relieve pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes, shingles, or spinal cord injury.
