Methyl salicylate helps in reducing inflammation.

Although uncommon, side effects of this the Oxypar gel are eczema, photosensitization, contact dermatitis- itching, redness, oedema of the treated area of skin, papules, vesicles, peeling, generalized skin rash, allergic reactions.
