It is administered if you have never been vaccinated against the hepatitis B virus, if you have been vaccinated but it was ineffective, or if you are at risk of infection. It is also used to protect infants delivered to a hepatitis-positive mother against infection.

Genevac B Pediatric Injectable 1 ml is available as an injection and should only be administered intramuscularly by a trained healthcare provider. Swelling (oedema), redness, itching, bruising or hardening of the skin at the injection site, low blood pressure, headache, dizziness, fast heart rate, being sick (vomiting), feeling sick (nausea), joint pains, back pain, fever, tiredness, and chills are some of the most common side effects of Genevac B Paediatric Injection 1 ml. Please notify your doctor if any of these side effects continue or worsen.
If you are allergic to human hepatitis B immunoglobulin or any other biological antiviral vaccines, or if you have previously received immunoglobulin A but had an allergic reaction, or if you have been diagnosed with any blood abnormalities, do not use Genevac B Paediatric Injection 1 ml. Inform your doctor if you are using any prescription or non-prescription medications before using Genevac B Paediatric Injection 1 ml. Also, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or nursing.
