MUCAINE syrup is an antacid, an anaesthetic used to treat acidity, stomach ulcer, heartburn, and helps in the easy passage of gas. it works by neutralizing excess stomach acid and exerts a numbing effect, thereby relieving pain from ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach.
you are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. caution must be followed as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. inform your doctor if you are not recovered with symptoms within two weeks of using this medication. alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it might increase acidity.
the most common side effects of this medication are constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness, and drowsiness. if the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. drink plenty of water, avoid spicy food, do not lie on the bed immediately after taking food. instead, sit in relax position until the digestion of the meal and avoid alcohol and smoking.
before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have low phosphate levels, high magnesium levels, or any problems with kidney, liver, heart & lungs and use any other medications.
