Larpose belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (gaba), which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Thus it relaxes the nerves and relieves the symptoms of restlessness, tiredness, difficulty in concentrating, and feeling irritable.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better and don’t quit the medication suddenly without consulting the doctor as it may lead to an increase in seizure frequency.
The most common side effects of this medication are fatigue and balance disorder. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any problems with your liver or kidneys. Also, tell your doctor if you are taking any other medications for the disease. You need to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while taking this medicine.
