Myestin tablet is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor agent. It treats myasthenia gravis, paralytic ileus, postoperative urinary retention. This medication also reverses the effect of skeletal muscle relaxants after surgery by increasing the levels of acetylcholine in the brain. Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Don’t miss a dose. Complete the treatment course. Early stopping of this medication may worsen the condition. Don’t stop the medication even if you feel better.
The common side effects of this tablet include nausea, diarrhoea, blur vision, abdominal pain, watery eyes, shortness of breath, and excessive salivation. Other side effects include headache, heartburn, sweating, dizziness, runny nose, and sleepiness. Inform your doctor if the symptoms persist or worsen.
This medication may raise blood pressure so, go for regular blood pressure checkups. Take plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration due to diarrhoea that may occur after taking this medication. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney, stomach, lungs, or brain problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother.
