TRIOMUNE tablet is a combination of three antiretroviral medicines, including lamivudine, stavudine and nevirapine. it is used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus infections (hiv). they work from preventing the virus from multiplying and thereby reduces the viral load in the blood. it also increases the cd4 cell count in your blood.
take this medicine alone or in combination with other medications. you are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. do not take the excess dose as it may lead to serious adverse effects. do not stop the medicine unless told by your doctor. inform your doctor if you are on any other medications as they may cause interactions. this medication has to be taken for several weeks or months for you to see or feel its benefits. avoid alcohol consumption while on this medication as it may lead to severe liver damage.
this medication's most common side effects are headache, nausea, tingling & numbness of feet, diarrhoea, peripheral neuropathy, tiredness, and difficulty in sleeping. if any of the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately.
before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medicines. this medication is not recommended in pregnancy as it may harm the baby.
