Sefdin is an antibiotic medication that belongs to the class of third-generation cephalosporins. It is used to treat many bacterial infections associated with airways (bronchitis, pneumonia) and infections of the skin, ears, sinuses, throat, and tonsils. Give this medication to your child at a fixed time regularly before 1 hr or after 2 hrs of meals.
Sefdin has a broad-spectrum activity. It prevents and kills the bacteria by interfering with the bacterial cell wall synthesis. Thus it stops the further spread of infection. This medicine shows improvement within 3 to 5 days of regular treatment. Do not discontinue this medicine.
Tell your doctor if your child has a gastrointestinal disease, kidney disease, heart disease, birth defects, lung disorder, liver disease, or diabetes because dose adjustment is required in some disease conditions.
The most common side effects of this medication are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, allergy, and headache. Inform your doctor if your child experiences them for a longer duration.
