Dsorolen belongs to a class of medicines called photosensitizer. It is a photosensitive medication used along with uv-a rays. In psoriasis, it works by decreasing excess production of skin cells. In vitiligo, it activates specific skin cells and helps repigmentation of the discoloured, white patches.
Dsorolen lotion is for external use only. Use only under the direct supervision of a physician. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after taking this medicine. The affected area must be cleaned and dried before use.
You should use this medication regularly for maximum results. Do not use more than necessary, as this may not relieve your condition more quickly and may increase some side effects. Tell your doctor if your condition lasts more than 4 weeks or gets worse at any time.
You can help this medicine work well by keeping the affected area clean. The most common side effects are burning, itching, rash, redness in the applied area, and blisters forming on the skin.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Apply sunscreen lotions or creams and cover with protective clothing for at least 8 hours after treatment. Avoid any other lotions or creams which may affect the action of dsorolen.
