Sorfil lotion is a synthetic form of vitamin d, and it belongs to a group of medicines called anti-psoriatic drugs. It works by reducing the growth of skin cells, thus controlling the psoriatic condition.
Use this medication in a dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use more than the recommended dose; it may lead to serious side effects. Always wash your hands before and after applying this medication. It takes several weeks to months for you to see or feel the benefit of it. If your skin condition has not improved within 2 -4 weeks after treatment, consult your doctor. Medication must be stopped unless told by your doctor. This medication works better if you keep the affected area clean and dry.
Common side effects are dry skin, skin irritation, itching, burning sensation, stinging sensation, redness of the skin, and rash at the application site. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth. If you accidentally got into these areas, wash with water immediately.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding or have kidney or liver disease. Never apply this medication to your face because it may cause skin irritation. Avoid direct contact with sunlight while using this medication.
