Xtane tablet belongs to the class of anti-cancer medicine, which is used to treat symptoms of breast cancer such as bloody discharge from nipples or change in the shape of the breast and breast lumps. It works by decreasing the amount of estrogen produced by the body. This medication also inhibits the growth of cancer cells in the breast.
Xtane is used along with other medications to treat early cancer and to prevent the risk of reoccurrence. You are advised to take this medication as prescribed by the doctor. Dose and dosage will be decided by the doctor according to your condition.
Medication must not be stopped without consulting the doctor. This medication has to be taken for several weeks to months to see the benefits. Xtane should be used with caution in patients suffering from hepatic or liver impairment.
The most common side effects of this medicine include insomnia, headache, nausea, and joint pain. Inform your doctor if it appears serious. Some people may experience vaginal bleeding, dark urine, and yellowing of eyes/skin. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor immediately.
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you are still having menstrual periods and have not gone through the menopause stage. Inform your doctor if you are using any other medicines as many drugs which may decrease the effect of this medicine or change the way it works.
