Phosfomin-XT tablet is used to treat anaemia. It is a combination medicine that works by storing iron in your body and corrects iron deficiency anaemia, enhances the absorption of iron in the body, helps in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It is also essential in pregnancy due to its role in the development of the unborn baby's brain and spinal cord. You are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Caution must be followed as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. This medication has to be taken for several weeks or months. Medication must not be stopped or exceed unless told by your doctor. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on Phosfomin-XT.
This medication usually does not cause any side effects. The most common side effects of Phosfomin-XT are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark coloured stools. If the symptoms worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately.
Before taking Phosfomin-XT, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver, heart & kidney problems, and use any other medications.
