METASPAN is a combination of three medications are methylcobalamin, methyl folate and pyridoxal. it is used to treat diabetic neuropathy, alcoholic neuropathy, drug-induced neuropathy, sciatica, post-herpetic neuralgia and optic neuritis and also helps to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis.
it works by bringing down the homocysteine level in the blood, which is a significant factor for atherosclerosis. the most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, dryness in mouth, diarrhea, sleepiness, skin rash and increased white blood cells. take the medication as directed by your doctor. do not stop taking this medication unless told by your doctor as it may worsen the condition. before taking this medication Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding and have kidney disease or liver disease. avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication as it may cause drowsiness, and sleepiness. do not drive if these symptoms occur.
