mfc is an antibiotic. it is used in the treatment of bacterial infections affecting the eye. it also helps in relieving the symptoms of eye infection. it works by preventing bacterial infection by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme (dna-gyrase) and thereby bacteria from dividing and repairing. you should take it as prescribed by the doctor.
it is recommended to take on a fixed time. hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. the dose depends on the infection, but the course of treatment should be completed as prescribed by the doctor. don’t stop the medicine too early; this may lead to the survival of some bacteria and increase the chances of returning of infection or worsening of infection.
the most common side effects included are eye discomfort, irritation, dry eye and burning sensation of the eye. these side effects are usually minor and not severe but tell the doctor if they do not subside. if the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or intend to be pregnant and using any other medications.
