Menabol tablet is an androgen-anabolic steroid is used to treat hereditary angioedema, breast cancer in postmenopausal women, catabolic disorders, and osteoporosis. It works by reducing the release of a chemical called bradykinin that is responsible for causing breaking and leakage of blood vessels. This damage to blood vessels leads to sudden accumulation of fluids below the skin, causing swelling (oedema) and redness. It blocks the action of bradykinin and treats angioedema. You are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Caution must be followed as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. This medication has to be taken regularly at the same time for you to see or feel the benefits of it. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor.

The most common side effects of this drug include new or worsening acne, headache, difficulty speaking, changes in sexual desire, nausea, vomiting, changes in skin colour and ankle swelling. In females, common side effects include hoarseness of voice, hair growth on the face and changes in menstrual periods. Males may suffer from the frequent or persistent erection of the penis. If these symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant.
