Cilamin tablet is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation and slows the process of the condition with certain joint diseases. It works in wilson's disease by helping the body remove excess copper.
Cilamin tablet is used alone or in combination with other medications. You are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. You must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. This medication has to be taken for several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor.
Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it may lead to severe liver damage. The most common side effects of this medication are protein in urine and low blood platelets. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may advise specific tests before and after the treatment to check for these issues.
Cilamin tablets should be taken on an empty stomach and at least half an hour before (one hour for children with wilson's disease or cystinuria) before a meal with a drink of water. Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medicines.
This medication is not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding as it may harm the baby.
