Pepciden syrup is an antacid used to treat acidity, stomach ulcer, heartburn, bloating and helps in the easy passage of gas. You are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. It works by neutralizing excess stomach acid and exerts a numbing effect, thereby relieving pain from ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach.
Excess consumption of Pepciden leads to serious adverse effects. Inform your doctor if you are not recovered with symptoms within two weeks of using this medication. Avoid alcohol consumption while on this medication.
The most common side effects of Pepciden are constipation, diarrhoea and dizziness. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Drink plenty of water, avoid spicy food, do not lie on the bed immediately after taking food. Instead, sit in a relaxed position until digestion of the meal and avoid too much alcohol and smoking.
Before taking Pepciden, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have gastric, kidney, liver, heart & lung problems, and use any other medications.
