Oripod oral solution is used in the treatment of bacterial infections targeting the ears, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. It is also effective in treating typhoid fever in children and adolescents and it works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of the bacteria, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making bacteria resistant to further treatment.
This medication dose and duration will be given based on your medical condition as prescribed by the doctor. Take this oral solution with food. Shake it well before every use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor.
If in case your child gags and expel the medicine within 30 mins of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double dose. Do not give your child this medication longer than recommended by the doctor. Usually, your child’s infection will start showing improvement within 3-4 days.
The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and headache. If the symptoms persist or worsen your child, consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may help your child with other ways to reduce or prevent these side effects.
Do not give this medication to your child in case of cold and flu symptoms as this medicine is an antibiotic and it does not work on viral infections. Before taking this medication inform your doctor if your child has any kidney problems, liver problems, or gastrointestinal problems.
