Orasore Gel belongs to a class of drugs called analgesics and antiseptics used in the treatment of mouth ulcers and oropharynx (middle part of the throat) inflammation. Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or at the base of gums. These can make you uncomfortable while eating, drinking, and talking. They usually heal within a few weeks and are not contagious.
Orasore Gel is a combination of three drugs, namely: Benzalkonium chloride (antibacterial agent), Choline salicylate (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) and Lignocaine hydrochloride (local anaesthetic). Benzalkonium chloride acts as an antibacterial agent and prevents secondary infections. Thus, it promotes quick healing of mouth ulcers. Choline salicylate works by blocking the action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme in the body that is involved in the production of certain chemical substances such as prostaglandins that cause pain and swelling. Thereby, it helps in relieving pain and swelling. Lignocaine hydrochloride decreases pain sensation by preventing the transmission of pain signals from nerves to the brain. Orasore Gel is for external use only. You are advised to use Orasore Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your condition.
If you are allergic to Orasore Gel or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid contact of Orasore Gel with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Orasore Gel comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before using Orasore Gel. Avoid using Orasore Gel in large amounts or for a long time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increase the risk of side effects.
