Venlafaxine hydrochloride tablet is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (snri) that works by increasing serotonin levels, norepinephrine, and dopamine (chemical messengers) in the brain by blocking transport proteins and stopping its reuptake at the presynaptic terminal. This action leads to more transmitters at the synapse and ultimately increases the stimulation of postsynaptic receptors that help maintain mental balance.

Venla tablet helps maintain the balance of certain chemicals in the brain that affect mood and behaviour. This improves your mood, relieves anxiety, tension, helps you sleep better, and increases your energy levels. It prevents extreme mood changes and helps you feel less agitated.

This medication's most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), decreased appetite, anxiety, constipation, increased sweating, and sexual dysfunction. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. However, these side effects are temporary and usually resolve on their own in some time. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects may bother you.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better and don't quit the medication suddenly without consulting the doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any problems with your liver, kidneys, or heart or if you have a history of seizures (epilepsy or fits). Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behaviour, new or worsening depression, or if you have any suicidal thoughts. Also, tell your doctor if you are taking any other medications for the disease. You need to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you have had any previous history of allergy to this medication.
