LULIRAB XL contains benzyl alcohol and luliconazole. these are antifungal medications. fungal infections are caused by yeast dermatophytes.
luliconazole works by retarding the synthesis of ergosterol by interacting with enzymes and causes holes in the fungal cell membranes. thus it kills the fungi. benzyl alcohol works by killing the fungi and also acts as a preservative for pharmaceutical formulations. this cream is an antifungal medication that treats skin infections. this cream is used to treat infections caused by fungi such as athlete’s foot, dhobie itch, thrush, ringworm, dry and flaky skin.
the most common side effects of this medication are burning sensation, irritation, itching, redness, dryness and peeling of the skin. these side effects are not usually serious and settle with time. Inform your doctor if these persist for a longer period. notify your doctor if you experience any allergic reactions such as rash, swelling of the lips, throat, swallowing, breathing problems and nausea.
