bacipen injection is used to treat ear, nose and throat infections, urinary tract infections, gonorrhoea, gynaecological infections, septicaemia, peritonitis, endocarditis, bronchitis, pneumonia, meningitis, enteric fever, and gastrointestinal infections. bacipen injection is given alone or in combination with other antibiotics. it works by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria that results in the killing of bacterial cells or inhibition of the growth of bacteria.
do not take the injection by yourself. the injection should only be given by the doctor or qualified medical practitioner intravenously or intramuscularly. complete the duration of treatment and do not skip the doses even if you feel better.
the most common side effects of bacipen injection include dermatitis, redness of the skin, rashes, itching, fever, seizure, black hairy tongue, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, anaemia. if the side effects persist or worsen, then inform the doctor immediately. inform your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding, suffering from kidney or liver disorders, or taking any other medications.
