Flaxeed is prepared by compression of flax seeds. Flaxeed contains many active components like omega 3 fatty acids, proteins, fibres, phenolic compounds and minerals like calcium and magnesium.
Flaxeed reduces inflammation, improves gut health, prevents irritable bowel syndrome, improves skin, aids in weight loss, and relieves menopause symptoms. The most common side effects were bloating, gas and diarrhoea. Avoid flaxeed capsules if you experience the above side effects. It shouldn't be exposed to higher temperatures as flaxeed may convert to toxic components. Inform your doctor if you use any blood clotting medications, diabetic drugs and oral contraceptives.
