RESTFULL tablet contains two medications, flupentixol and melitracen hcl. both medications work in different paths. melitracen is a tricyclic antidepressant medication.
melitracen works as an antidepressant by decreasing the reabsorption of norepinephrine and serotonin at the synapse resulting in an increased concentration of these chemicals (neurotransmitters) at the nerve end. flupentixol is an antipsychotic medication. this medication increases the serotonin and noradrenaline amounts by inhibiting the central monoamine receptors(d1 and d2). thus both medications are used to treat depression by improving mood, reduces anxiety, tension, allows you to sleep adequately and improves your energy levels.
these medications help to neutralize the chemicals which alter your mood and behaviour. you may feel limited events of depression and low mood. this medication's most common side effects are mouth dryness, difficulty in urination, muscle stiffness, weight gain, visual disturbances, abnormal rise in heartbeat, increased prolactin levels, constipation, and tremor. most of the side effects remain for a shorter duration. if you experience them for a longer period, consult your physician.
