Clonil belongs to the class of tricyclic antidepressants is used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (ocd), depression, and narcolepsy. It works by increases the level of a chemical messenger in the brain that helps to treat depression.
Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop this medication unless told by your doctor, as it may worsen your condition. The most common side effects are dryness of mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, impotence, nervousness, difficulty in urination, tremor, and weight gain and will resolve within a short period. Rise slowly from sitting or lying down position to avoid dizziness. Sudden stoppage of this medication may cause additional harmful effects.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication as it may cause more drowsiness. Do not take more than the recommended dose as it may cause harmful effects.
