First dose of Oral Polio Suspension is given at birth. Primary three doses at 6, 10 & 14 weeks of childs age and one booster dose at 16-24 month of age and other at five years of age Two drops of this vaccine are given orally. In addition to these OPV doses, don&rsquot forget to immunise your child during all pulse polio immunisation days. There is no risk of overdose, fully immunized children receiving extra doses of OPV will receive extra protection against polio. The vaccine is administered multiple times to ensure full protection. There is minimal risk of adverse effects from OPV.
