Pirfenex 600mg Tablet contains Pirfenidone which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-fibrotics or Anti-inflammatory agents. It is used in the treatment of mild to moderate Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a condition in which the tissues in the lungs (alveoli) become swollen and scarred over time and making it difficult to breathe.
Your doctor will decide how the dose you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. It makes your skin sun-sensitive, wear protective clothing or apply sunscreen while in direct contact with the sun.
