Unwanted Kit

The Unwanted Kit is a two-part medicine used to safely end a pregnancy early on. It works by blocking a hormone your body needs to keep the pregnancy going and by causing mild cramps to help expel the pregnancy tissue.
 

Here's what to expect:

• You'll take the first medicine, Mifepristone, with or without food, depending on your doctor's advice.
• You might experience some spotting or bleeding after taking this.
• Then, 24-48 hours later, you'll take the second medicine, Misoprostol, either by mouth or placing it in your vagina (whichever you feel more comfortable with).
• This medicine may cause cramping and heavier bleeding, similar to a period.
   

Common side effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps are pretty normal, but let your doctor know if they become severe.
• There are ways to manage these side effects, so don't hesitate to ask for help.
   

Important things to tell your doctor:

• If you've ever had a pregnancy outside your womb (ectopic pregnancy).
• If you're breastfeeding or using an IUD (birth control device).
• Any other medications you're taking, as they might interfere with the Unwanted Kit.
   

Take it easy while your body recovers:

Avoid strenuous activity like heavy exercise or running for a while. Your doctor will likely recommend some rest and may do a check-up to confirm everything passed as expected.

• If you experience heavy bleeding or severe abdominal pain, contact your doctor right away.
