After pushing a tonsil stone out, it is very common to have a hole left behind in the tissue of your tonsils. This is because the removal of the stone can cause damage or disruption to the tissues and cells within your tonsil.

The hole left in your tonsil after removing a stone can sometimes be large; however, this doesn't indicate any serious medical issue and it should heal over time. Your body has an amazing ability to self-heal small lesions like this one that occur on soft tissue. After all, you are constantly exposed to bacteria and germs in everyday life so our bodies are designed accordingly!

The best way to facilitate faster healing of the area is by keeping your throat clean with saltwater gargles several times per day. You should also avoid drinking or eating spicy food or other irritants that could further irritate the wound site and slow down healing. Additionally, it would be beneficial for you to maintain good oral hygiene habits while allowing some extra time for brushing around/atop your now-hole filled tonsil(s)!
Treatments such as antiseptic mouthwash can help disinfect any open wounds quickly and efficiently. If you develop any worrisome symptoms such as heavy bleeding from the wound site or difficulty breathing due to swelling then seek medical attention immediately as these may potentially signal larger underlying issues at hand!
