Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition that causes people to have unwanted thoughts and behaviors. These thoughts and behaviors can be so extreme that they get in the way of daily life. For example, a person with OCD may feel the need to wash their hands over and over again, or spend hours checking to make sure the door is locked.
