and it is not always clear what you are paying for. This guide lists the most commonly booked blood tests, what each one checks, and what they typically cost when you book online with free home sample collection.

Why do blood test prices vary so much?
- The lab and its accreditation. NABL certified labs follow strict quality controls, which affects cost but also how reliable your result is.
- The method used. Some tests can be done with different machines or methods that differ in accuracy and price.
- What is included. A "thyroid test" can mean TSH alone or a full panel with antibodies. Always check the list of parameters, not just the name.
- Collection charges. Some providers add a fee for home collection. On SecondMedic, home sample collection is free.
Individual tests or a health package?
If you need more than two or three tests, a health checkup package is usually much cheaper than booking them one by one. For example, the Aarogyam Mini package includes 78 tests for about Rs. 899 at the time of writing, roughly the price of booking a lipid profile and a liver function test separately.
Packages make sense for a yearly checkup or when your doctor wants a broad picture. Individual tests are better when you only need to monitor one thing, such as HbA1c for diabetes or TSH for thyroid treatment. Read our guide to full body checkup prices to compare packages, or browse all health packages.
How to save on blood tests
- Compare the offer price, not the MRP. Many tests are listed below their MRP.
- Choose a package if you need several tests at once.
- Book only what you need. If you are unsure, consult a doctor online first so you do not pay for tests you do not need.
- Have a prescription? Upload your prescription and our team will book the right tests for you.
How booking works
Choose a test or package, pick a convenient time slot, and a trained phlebotomist collects your sample at home. Samples are processed at NABL certified partner labs and your report is shared digitally within 48 to 72 hours. You can pay online or to the technician at collection, after your booking is confirmed.
