What causes bone fractures to itch?

When a person suffers from a bone fracture, the healing process of the body begins almost immediately. As part of this natural healing process, there are several stages that occur after the fracture happens.

One stage that can cause itchiness is called “remodeling” or “bone regeneration” and it actually occurs during the later stages of healing. During remodeling, new bone tissue starts to grow and replace any damaged tissue left behind as a result of the fracture. The growing new cells create increased pressure within existing blood vessels which can cause an itching sensation when touched. Additionally, these new cells release substances such as histamine which can bring on more localized inflammation and more significantly make you itchier than usual at the site of injury. In some cases nerve endings may also be affected in areas where bones have been newly formed resulting in further itching sensations around those areas too!

Also, since fractures often reduce our ability to move certain parts of our bodies temporarily due to pain or discomfort this added physical immobility may mean that we don't scratch or rub ourselves as much as usual - leading us to feel itchier for longer periods than before!
