The AliveCor ECG monitor is a clinically validated portable device designed to help diagnose and monitor patients’ heart conditions. It has the capability of monitoring and recording electrocardiograms (ECGs) with just one touch of a button. The signal it picks up is an ECG, or Electrocardiograph, which records the electrical activity of your heart. To obtain this signal, the device uses two sensors that are placed on different sides of your chest.
When these sensors detect electrical activity in your heart, they use what is known as bioimpedance biosensors to convert that into digital data signals that go directly into the AliveCor machine's computer chip. This chip then processes those signals and stores them temporarily so they can be transferred elsewhere quickly and efficiently for analysis if needed- such as sending it to a health professional or medical specialist for review if necessary.
Using two electrodes on alternatively opposite sides of your chest combined with proprietary algorithms developed by AliveCor ensures precise measurements every time you use it; allowing you to get reliable results even when outside environments are not perfectly quiet in regards to background noise interference or muscle contractions from everyday movements while using their device like breathing or twitching muscles from nearby wrist movement during readings etc...
The AliveCor also measures other significant information about your cardiovascular system such as R-R intervals (time between each heartbeat), ST segment changes (a marker for coronary artery disease diagnosis) , P-wave duration & morphology(heart conduction cycle evaluation) , abnormal patterns such as pause events (large pauses in beats due to hormones imbalance). All this additional data can be further analyzed by clinicians not only providing general insight but enabling early detection/diagnosis' symptoms - all from just one single touchscreen test!
