Eating papayas to prevent pregnancy is not recommended. Papaya does have some contraceptive properties, but research has found that it is unreliable and should not be used as a form of contraception. In fact, consuming large amounts of papaya can increase the risk of certain health problems such as birth defects and miscarriage due to the presence of carpaine, an alkaloid present in the fruit.
Instead, if you are looking for effective ways to prevent pregnancy, we recommending talking to your doctor about other forms of contraception such as condoms or birth control pills which are proven methods backed by scientific studies and medical evidence.
