Vascular surgeons typically don’t get annoyed when they’re asked to revascularize a patient’s stent multiple times. In fact, it’s usually seen as their duty to provide the best possible care for their patients and ensure that any further issues are addressed in a timely manner. It can, however, become frustrating if the patient has failed to adhere to a post-operative plan of recovery or instructions on how they should manage their condition. If a patient is returning with pain before the scheduled follow up visit, it is important for them to voice this concern so that any potential complications can be assessed promptly.
Most vascular surgeons are highly trained individuals who take great pride in offering personalized care and ensuring quick resolution of any issues with their treatment plans. As such, many would rather see patients earlier than later whenever discomfort may be occurring in order to address the issue and prevent further progression of the problem—not only because it means less work for them but also because it provides better outcomes for those under their care.
