Q. Are you getting or do you plan to get a PSA (prostate specific antigen) test?

I'm not getting a PSA test and I don't plan to get one. The evidence suggests that the PSA test leads to more harm than good. For example, prostate cancer is overdiagnosed and overtreated in the United States due to the widespread use of the PSA test. The PSA test finds many cases of prostate cancer that wouldn't have caused any problems during a man's lifetime, but because it's found, these men are then treated with surgery, radiation therapy, or hormone therapy. And these treatments often cause serious side effects, such as erectile dysfunction and incontinence.
