Most people are aware that the human eye is an incredible sense organ, but there are many mind-blowing facts about it that few people know.

For starters, we can perceive up to nearly 10 million colors with the naked eye! That's because our eyes contain three types of color-sensitive cells — or cones — which allow us to see a range of colors including red, green and blue. What's even more incredible is that your eye has a high resolution — in other words, you can see very small details when they're close to you. The human eye has an angular resolution of 1 minute of arc, meaning it can detect objects as small as 0.3 millimeters from 3 meters away!

Another amazing fact about the human eye is its light sensitivity. Our eyes have something called "rod cells," which help us determine how light or dark something is without any color perception at all - this happens in lowlight conditions like nighttime. Amazingly, our rod cells are also highly sensitive - so much so that just one molecule of visual pigment captured from light entering the pupil will triger vision response!

Lastly, did you know that your pupils expand and contract based on how much light they need? This phenomenon is known as pupillary reflex - depending on the amount of available light hitting the retina (among other factors), our pupils will adjust their size accordingly allowing enough brightness for visibility while avoiding glare or damage due to excessive brightness exposure levels.
