How long do eyes normally stay dilated after visiting the ophthalmologist?

 Normally, the pupil dilates about 3-4 mm after a person has been in a brightly lit room for about 10 minutes. Pupil dilation may last for up to 2 hours after leaving the ophthalmologist's office, but it is usually gone within 30 minutes.
