The diagnosis of male sexual problems depends on the type of issue and its symptoms. Generally speaking, most male sexual issues can be diagnosed through a physical examination with a doctor. The most common tests used to diagnose male sexual issues include:
1) Blood Tests – This test is done to screen for hormone imbalances, check cholesterol levels, and to test for certain infections that could be linked to sexual dysfunction. It can also help rule out other medical conditions like diabetes or anemia which may cause sexual dysfunction as well.
2) Urine Tests – This test usually checks for prostate cancer as well as urinary tract infections which can cause erectile dysfunction in men.
3) Ultrasound – This imaging technique will give your doctor detailed images of your penis and scrotum so he or she can look for any abnormalities causing erectile dysfunction such as obstruction, cysts, tumors etc.
4) Psychological Exam – Your physician may conduct psychological exams if there are suspicion of any mental health issues impacting your sex life such an depression or anxiety.. He/she may recommend therapy to treat these issues if any arises during this evaluation process.
5) Nocturnal Penile Tumescence (NPT) Test - During this overnight sleep study, electrodes are attached onto the surface of the penis while you sleep; it helps measure whether or not there is enough blood flow into the penis when stimulated during REM sleep in order to ensure that erections happen normally throughout the night while sleeping- something needed in order achieve sustained long-term erection strength when awake & active again later on!
