Q. Can you take screenshots on a retina Macbook Pro using the non-retina resolution?
Doctor Answer is medically reviewed by SecondMedic medical review team.
It is possible to take screenshots on a retina Macbook Pro while using non-retina resolution. To do this, you need to press Shift+Command+3 or Shift+Command+4 (depending on your desired screenshot type) and then press the Option key immediately after taking the screenshot. This will allow you to temporarily set your resolution as non-retina for the time that you take a screenshot before returning it back to normal. Unlike other solutions that require changing system settings in System Preferences, this quick shortcut method allows for faster screenshots with minimal effort.
