Can you take screenshots on a retina Macbook Pro using the non-retina resolution?

It is possible to take screenshots on a retina Macbook Pro while using non-retina resolution. To do this, you need to press Shift+Command+3 or Shift+Command+4 (depending on your desired screenshot type) and then press the Option key immediately after taking the screenshot.
